Pinterest is here to replace your bridal magazines

There is no argument that technology is constantly changing the way we go about our daily lives. People are receiving the news on their phone rather than through the newspaper, they're selling online rather than through garage sales and they're listening to a GPS voice rather than their back-seat driver. In the case of Pinterest, well, the current Caucasian female population would implode if their beloved site disappeared.

Pinterest is a virtual pin-board that allows users to bookmark sites and images in a logical and beautiful way. It has become a mecca for Do-It-Yourself projects, mason jar inspired parties and travel inspiration. The number one offence that I blame Pinterest for, however, is the exponential increase in 'rustic vintage theme' weddings. They are everywhere, yet somehow users still believe that because they have found an idea on Pinterest, it must be unique. It has become the unique taste of millions. Because of this surge in backyard weddings and free, easily accessible wedding ideas, the death of bridal magazines is imminent. Even the bridal industry is suffering, with brides opting for hay bales and print-at-home invitations, there is less need for chair covers and stick-on diamonds. However, change begets change, and we cannot entirely blame Pinterest for this shift, we can simply say that it has contributed. And, it may very well be for the better.

Pinterest has cleverly forged its way into the hearts of many, leaving those working in print media truly scorned.
